Here is a description of a special festival in Lagartera, Castilla La Mancha, Spain. It's a religious festival, and also attracts tourists from all over the world, (as the Castilla La Mancha official website notes: link), because it is spectacularly beautiful. There are embroideries on display, altars, women wearing the traditional costume, and the ground is strewn with scented herbs such as rosemary, fennel and thyme. Villagers who aren't especially Catholic contribute herbs for this special day. The article is written by Amada Lozano, who explains the religious significance of the festival, and the photos are by Gonzalo Díez, who is married to a Lagarteran. There are two links, first for an English version, and then for a Spanish version, for people who'd like to practise their Spanish.
